Unwind with Gentle Stretching Yoga
November 9, 2009
As the weather turns crisp and the leaves drift into golden piles on the ground, I am constantly reminded that there is a time and a season for everything. Just as the seasons cycle through remarkable changes over the course of a year, so do our bodies over the course of our lives.
Our bodies carry us through our work in the world – and our play, love, laughter, worries, travel, exercise, childbearing, health or sickness, nourishment, and yes, even our age – all carve their mark on our bodies, affecting how we feel at this particular time of our life cycle.
There is a yoga class for every body, and Gentle Stretching might just fit the bill for yours at this time. Gentle Stretching is a class designed for anyone who wants to experience the deep benefits of yoga stretches, while treating their bodies gently.
Who Takes a Gentle Stretching Yoga Class, Anyway?
- You might be brand-new to yoga, wanting to “break yourself in” slowly.
- You might be a vibrantly active senior with touchy joints.
- You may be an experienced yogi who finds yourself injured, sick, or unusually busy, needing to step back a bit.
- You may be training for a sports event and wanting an extra day of stretching without impacting your training schedule.
- You may be pregnant, looking for stretches that will ease the discomfort and give you the relaxing space to connect with your baby
- Or, perhaps you simply want the chance to go deeper into some of the yoga stretches you experience in your more active yoga classes.
Whatever the reason, Gentle Stretching with Sari will give you a class with some mindful warming exercises, plenty of slow, delicious stretches, and restorative poses that will leave you feeling refreshed, centered, and full of ease. What an incredible gift to yourself! Class during the week is on Saturday from 10:30-11:45 a.m.
As the season of autumn invites you to turn your attention inward, we invite you to reflect on your body’s needs and see whether it’s asking you for some Gentle Stretching. As a regular practice or an occasional treat, everybody can benefit from some tender treatment!
We are up and running!
