by Keren on The Bindu

I moved to the area a few months ago, during a difficult time for my family. I was immediately adopted by the Bindu family, whose encouraging support helped me get through a very dark time. Not only did the asana practice help me get stronger both physically and mentally, but on a daily basis, off the mat, the community of the Bindu helps me fill my life with light and laughter.

As a clinical psychologist, I am well aware of the connection between mind, body, and spirit. I have always been physically active and very embodied. Although I am on my fifth decade of life, it never occurred to me to try yoga -- until a friend told me about the grand opening of The Bindu a few years ago. That weekend, for something like 20 bucks, I could “sample” classes. Well, I was the quintessential kid in the candy store, and the studio definitely lost money on me…I think I took every class offered and thus began my yogic journey. The Bindu is a community of extremely skilled, experienced, and delightful teachers and wonderful students who gather together in a place of love and mutual respect to grow and express their full potential. Yoga has become the hub of my life, offering strength, balance, and flexibility not just physically, but emotionally, intellectually, socially, professionally, and spiritually. As a result, my life – and hopefully the lives I touch -- has become immeasurably enriched. In my second year practicing yoga, I participated in a yearlong immersion program at the Bindu, and this year have begun an amazing journey as I participate in the 200 RYT teacher training program. No matter your age, background, experience, or expectations, I truly believe that once a person has been exposed to yoga practice, they will be profoundly changed – I know I have been.

My favorite Yoga Class. Challenging and informative, great people attend. Kelly as an instructor is masterful, soulful and insightful!

by Susan on The Bindu

The Bindu has opened up my mind and my breath - and has welcomed me into a community that I value. I was 43 years old, and had never stepped foot into a yoga class before. I was so nervous! I'm thrilled to have found a place to practice that has taught me good alignment from the beginning. Now, I am in love with yoga & hope to find my handstand before the year is out.
