Celebrate International Yoga Day at The Bindu

At The Bindu, everyone can enjoy the practice of yoga, and International Yoga Day is the perfect time to start.  Not sure you are ready for yoga?  Here are five fabulous reasons to give yoga – and The Bindu – a try!

Reason #1: Practice for Free

Our free yoga class is geared to beginners.

We want you to experience why yoga is so popular, and a practice that people do for the rest of their lives.  And we teach yoga for every body, meaning YOU!  Whether your muscles are tight, you can’t touch your toes, or you think you have to be in better shape to do yoga… we know you will find your happy yoga home at The Bindu.

Reason #2:  Learn to Breathe

Yoga re-trains your body how to breathe efficiently.  When you inhale, do you pull your belly in or relax it?  If you pull your belly in, then you are a backwards breather.  Join us on June 26th and we will teach you to breathe well and to feel more at ease.

Reason #3: Reduce Stress

As for stress, our society has so normalized the “fight, flight, or freeze response” that we have forgotten how to settle and what it feels like to relax. We will talk about how to increase mindfulness in your day.   Scientific research shows that meditation can rewire our brains in only 8 weeks.

Reason #4: Improve your MOOD!

Yoga is good for your mood. There’s something fabulous about leaving your demons at the door, so to speak. An hour or more of conscious breathing in a mindful community, moving and stretching intelligently, and practicing a good attitude are all magical mood enhancers.

Reason #5 (and this is a good one!): Improve your Sex Life

Last but certainly not least, multiple studies conclude that yoga is good for your sex life… really!  Harvard Medical School published an article regarding a study in The Journal of Sexual Medicine (Nov. 12, 2009), stating that regular yoga practice improves several aspects of sexual function in women, including desire, arousal, orgasm, and overall satisfaction.  This study examined 22 postures, including triangle pose, cobra, and a seated twist….all poses we do at The Bindu daily. 🙂

We hope you will join us to celebrate International Yoga Day here in our own community at The Bindu.
