Owner – Kelley Gardner
Kelley Gardner is a highly trained, much- loved, certified Anusara Yoga teacher and founder of The Bindu in Cornelius, NC. The Anusara certification program is recognized world-wide as one of the most comprehensive, technically advanced yoga trainings available. Since becoming a dedicated student of Anusara Yoga® in 1998, Kelley studies regularly with John Friend, the founder of Anusara Yoga, as well as with many other Ansuara teachers across the nation. Certified since January 2005, Kelley teaches Anusara Immersions, Teacher Trainings, and leads workshops nationally and internationally.

Nine years ago, I rolled my first yoga mat out in front of Kelley Gardner for a private yoga session aimed at relieving chronic neck and back pain.  One hour later, in a puddle of revelatory tears, I knew my life would never be the same.  The practice of yoga — and Kelley’s teaching and mentoring – have shown me how to align with things that are life enhancing, and to see the good in everything, including myself.  As a recovering Type-A Personality, yoga has taught me that there is more to life than the definitive black and white spaces where I have primarily resided for most of my life.  In yoga, I have learned to find meaning – and even delight – in the gray areas, which lets me fully enjoy the wild ride of life with my husband Jim, our two young girls, and our pooch.

My role at the Bindu is simply to ensure that the day to day operations run smoothly.  I enjoy the dance of staying detail-oriented while being immersed in such a heartfelt community of students and teachers.  My favorite part of the Bindu is feeling our community expand every time a student steps through the door.  I love to hear about everyone’s journey to yoga, and I enjoy being able to spread the light of yoga through my work.

Marketing Director – Katie Mattson

Founder Katie Mattson is a veteran graphic designer, coach and adventurist. She’s worked with solo entrepreneurs, corporations, small business owners, career shifters and more. In 2009, Katie co-founded the Social Media Works event for entrepreneurs. She has a BFA in Graphic Design from James Madison University, a coaching certificate from Coach University, an ACC certification from the International Coach Federation and is a member of the International Coach Federation’s local Charlotte chapter.

Katie has handled the Bindu’s blog, website and marketing since their opening. Katie’s skills range from print design to web and social media. The “1-2 punch” of coaching and design means your marketing tools will align with your values and goals. You get more than an unforgettable website or a nice brochure.
