E-RYT-200 | Teacher
Joey Schnople has always followed a bit of an eccentric path. He is an RYT-200 Registered Yoga teacher, has a BA in Philosophy and Modern Languages from St. Andrews University, and an MBA from Wake Forest University.
Joey’s career path has involved studying and implementing Adult Education, Human Centered Design, and Organizational Development, and he currently has a private coaching practice. Because all work and no play makes Jack (Joey) a dull boy, he spends his creative time cooking, writing, playing drums, and designing sound for live theatre.
Joey’s personal practice began with a gift from his wife, Sylvia: a meditation weekend at the Zen Mountain Monastery in Mt. Tremper, NY. After this experience he became hooked, immersing himself in the study of meditation, neuroscience, breath-focused practices, and yoga. His teaching is informed by the Viniyoga approach, emphasizing the individual needs of each student, and he follows a practice that emphasizes focus on the breath via foundational poses. He is also a practitioner of Zazen meditation, and believes in integrating these practices to develop one’s energy, focus, and well being.
