E-RYT-500 | Teacher Trainer
Kelley Gardner is a refined, experienced voice in the teaching of hatha yoga. She has practiced yoga and meditation since 1988 and has taught for over 20 years in the U.S. and internationally. Her particular emphasis is on creating balance, strength and flexibility in the body and the mind – at any age and experience level. Her richly layered teaching style blends lightheartedness with a deep grounding in years of study of Indian philosophy, subtle energy, and meditation. The clarity of her instruction is seasoned with stories that make movement, breath, and intention come alive on and off the mat. Her rich voice is both steady and calming.
Kelley holds certification in Kripalu Yoga (1995) and Anusara Yoga (2005-2012) and studies philosophy regularly with renowned scholars Drs. Douglas Brooks, Bill Mahony, and Paul Muller-Ortega. A social worker by education (WCU 1980) and an energy worker since 2000, Kelley is particularly gifted at weaving self-discovery, self-inquiry, and energy work into a holistic mode of healing from the inside out. Her pragmatic approach makes esoteric subjects understandable and applicable to daily life.
Kelley is the original founder of The Bindu and is a co-founder of Rasika Yoga School, which provides 200-hr and advanced 300-hour level teacher trainings that are Yoga Alliance approved. She teaches yoga immersions, teacher trainings, workshops, and retreats in the U.S. and internationally.
When not teaching yoga, Kelley loves spending time with her wonderful husband, especially at their rustic mountain cabin that they built themselves. They share the joy of watching their (combined) five grown children and four grandchildren (and counting!) walk their own paths in the world. Kelley also relishes cooking, reading, riding her motorcycle, and taking long walks in nature. A long-time musician, she lives for impromptu jam sessions and weekly guitar lessons that satisfy her inner rock star muse.
