Special

Walk not only with your head up and your hands out, but your arms around your neighbors, embracing them with all your might and accepting them for who they are. You are never that different from those you look at as “other” or “foreign” or “strange” or “poor” or not as “wise”. You have much more in common than you have differences with them. We’re not saying that you aren’t a unique being. We’re not saying that you aren’t special. We’re saying that everyone is special, in their own way, in their own time and their own place, and all deserve love. So go now. Not with your hands asking for more or for forgiveness but with your hands in prayer and grateful contemplation of a better world. Go in peace and go in love.
