Let’s go with the theme of the sea. Way out to sea, beyond the view of land and yet not seeing another, there sat a boy and his father who had just set off for a grand adventure. They weren't worried. The sky was clear, the waves weren’t high and there seemed to be fish and light in the sea below them at a safe distance when they wanted, and there in plentitude when they needed nourishment. Their eyes were to the horizon, where they would be for many days on end.
One day the father said “Look – there is land, there is life, there is hope.” And the little boy responded, “Ah, father, I see land but there was always life and there was always hope. And there was always love. So maybe it will be easier to be on land instead of at sea, but that which is most precious was never lost to us.” The father just smiled, understanding as much as he could and allowing for his son to look bright-eyed into the clouds and see the sun, even as rain was approaching and it would surely hit before they made the shore.
