As long as there is hunger in this world, war in this world, hate in this world, abject despair and poverty in this world, divisions of all kinds… do not think that you stand apart even if you are not, in your perception, touched in this lifetime by injustice and pain. You are not standing apart in the eyes of God, but simply blessed in this moment by another experience of reality. Do what you can to help heal the disparity, offer some hope from where you are standing, and show empathy to those who are not right now so fortunate. We’re not saying to forget yourself in the process, and don’t embrace the grace you have been given. Not at all. But do not think it means you are superior, and do not forget at any time to say thank you. True power is being able to extend a hand to someone who needs help to stand on their own and not have challenges always thrown at them to keep them down.
