The Wishes You Have

And in that moment, when all was still, came a voice that lingered in the air, and both inspired and haunted the heart. For it came strong and without warning, and without pretext. It simply said to be careful of the wishes you have, and the reason they’re imagined. If born with love and curiosity and the intent of goodwill, then let them live. But if they resonate with power and control and superiority, then let them die. Recognize their root as not in good, but in delusion and a place that’s bathed in darkness, and not in light. And if you see others with ambitions that stray from wholeness and empathy and oneness with the Universe, look at where they came from, what misperceptions and insecurities created them, and what face is put upon them. And either back away, or do what you can to shine a light on their misdirection.
